Creating a Forensic Curriculum
Description: The course will include hands-on instruction in
DNA extraction, amplification, sequencing (mitochondrial), and STR analysis. It
is designed for High School Science Teachers interested in bringing Forensic
Biotechnology into their classrooms. No previous experience with DNA is
required.
Credits: 2 credits (a 3 credit option which requires an independent research
project is available by arrangement with the instructors, additional Graduate
School tuition and fees apply)
Instructors: Greg Hampikian, with Linda Strausbaugh, Craig O'Connor, and
guest lecturers from the the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory
Housing: Not included.
